Whoever said eating snow was bad for you led a pretty boring life... This you see above, is a giant snow cone we maded yesterday. It took four people to push and one to sprinkle a container of coolade over it... yumo.

P.S Last night I went and saw Pilot Drift and Supergrass play at club 9:30 D.C, yay for Supergrass!!!

Snow Day!!!

HEEEYA! Im leaving the U S of A in two days and I was kinda worried that it wasn't going to snow before I left, But on whilst we were skiing on artificial snow yesterday, it started bucketing down. This morning I awoke to at least a feet of snow and its one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen... I took alot of film pics, and I can't wait to see them developed. Wish you here now.

They have arrived...

OK, so we're on our way... Two of the cameras Adrian and I ordered on ebay arrived today, and they're both splendid, exactly what we were after. The first was a 1967 polaroid camera that needed alot of work before we could plonk in ontop of the scanner, Dad shaved of about a third of its wieght with bits and pieces that we didn't need and jammed open the shutter with a toothpick, I dont think it can be restored to its original state now though, but who gives a shit, I'd say it would be a teeny hassle to get the right film for it anyways.
SO above is the polaroid on a strip of black foamy stuff to stop the camera from scratching the scanner (This is the setup used to take the following photos).
The other camera we got is an el enchanto kodak. Its pretty cool, when we get a chance to muck around with it I shall post some more examples. This is exciting!

warping

This is three different pictures taken with the scanner camera, no modifications have been made to the scanner yet untill we get ours delivered. After mucking about with focus and lighting, we eventually got a standard from this camera, and have started to notice some warping. The middle picture above is one where Sally hasnt quite stayed still whilst being captured so her cheeks and chin buldged out a bit. After noticing this we did some tests, the left most picture was taken whilst she slightly moved along with the sensor, which shortend her, and the right photo she moved against the sensor, which widend her. But as you can see, it works much better with a lens compared to our earlier pin-hole shoebox technique.

ScannerCamera FIRST TRY!

Ok! Incase anyone is wondering what the hell this is, its a photo of me with Adrian and Jacky's first attempt at making a scanner camera. So what you see above is a shoebox with a pinhole sitting on a basic flatbed scanner, and this is just the beggining... Alot of adjustments need to be made but I'll go into detail later... for now just you all get as excited as I am.

Ok well, I just wanted to put a post up to say that this blog is approx. 1 year old! which is exciting!!! thanks to all of you that have been dropping in! To mark this occasion I maded a vector for you all, seeings as this also marks one year since I started making them! CHEERS!

I heart melbourne.

Im in america again now, Its just as I remembered. The airport gave it away with a slight smell of bacon, cheese and wet chalk. I could just say its hard to describe, but I thoughtd I'd give it a shot anyways. Its good to see Mum, Dad and Adrian. Im excited because Adrian and I are going to go shopping at some point to buy some materials to make a scannner camera, which I'm thinking could be a great medium for my photomedia class this year. So I spent the last week before coming here in Melbourne, Marius is pretty good for all those concerned, I can't wait to move there! It's such a beautiful city and talk about awsome food! I could spend a couple of years exploring every little awsome cafe or club hidden away somewhere. So yeah had a lot of fun, went out a fair bit, did some shopping and alot of social interactivity. Anyways lots of stories to tell but I must go...

A Snappy Pentaxmas... ha ha!

If any of you are out there looking for a digital camera and you came across the canon ixus 50. you though wow what an awsome camera for an awsome price, but unfortunatley no one has them in stock, i'll give you the reason... all the folks at the camera stores are buying them all... i think i saw 5 of them at our work christmas party... it made me love my little blue nikon even more when everyones cameras got muddled up! I feel kind of sorry for anyone who happens to be in the same restaurant when we go out... the amount of flashes would surely be the likley scenario for anyone to fall into an epileptic fit.

All that was missing was a photocopier...
